Having well over 40 years’ experience serving the lovely people of Warwickshire, the team here at Platinum have built-up quite the list of favourite activities to do, when we’re not busy installing or supplying exceptional windows and doors. The birth place of legendary playwright and wordsmith William Shakespeare, one of the UK’s few landlocked counties, and host to properties both new and old, here are our top 6 things to do in Warwickshire.

1. Warwick castle and grounds

The perfect place to spend a full day out for all the family, Warwick castle offers visitors the opportunity to explore more than 1,000 years of fascinating history. Such history is brought to life via engaging walk through exhibits and attractions, while the grounds’ castle dungeon and Horrible Histories maze has the kids covered with plenty of educational yet engaging fun.

2. The MAD Museum

Proudly the UK’s only permanent venue solely dedicated to celebrating the beauty of mechanical art, Stratford-Upon-Avon’s MAD Museum is the place to visit for anyone with an interest in science or technology. Full of gadgets, gizmos, and other machinery that helps to shape the modern world around us, the museum is open all year round. As fans of window manufacturing here at Platinum team, here’s a great place to expand our horizons.

3. Royal Shakespeare Company

Also located in Stratford-Upon-Avon, the Royal Shakespeare Company has been staging modern and traditional versions of the renowned wordsmith’s most famous plays for well over 80 years. The theatre company prides itself on delivering some of the best performances you can experience in the country, all in the hope of temporarily transporting you to another world if only for a brief evening.

4. Midland Air Museum

Devoutly run by a mixture of staff and volunteers living in and around Baginton, Midland Air Museum is one of the country’s leading self-funded aviation museums, full of planes that have been preserved and restored for the public’s viewing pleasure. Situated just a stone’s throw away from Coventry Airport, in 2008 the venue garnered National Accreditation status and features such iconic aircrafts as the Sea Harrier jump jet and the CMC Leopard.

5. Wootton Park

A picturesque setting that spans a staggering 360-acre valley, the rolling hills of Warwickshire’s countryside have never looked better than in Wootton Park. Typically a venue that frequently plays host to weddings, birthday celebrations, and other social events, there’s also the opportunity to stay overnight in a Treepod or Glamping pod located across the way from the site’s main 16th century farmhouse.

6. Ye Olde Tudor World

Infamously known as one of the most supposedly haunted locations in the UK, Tudor World can be found within the heart of Stratford-Upon-Avon, and makes no secret about the apparent apparitions that stalk the halls at night. Take a ghost tour in the evening and find out for yourself, or simply discover more about what life was like as a Tudor. Either way, it’s a trip you’ll not likely forget after visiting.
